Updated Password for Pabian Law’s News Site
Before we get into immigration news from the past couple of weeks, we want to share the updated password for the Pabian Law webpage news site.
As a reminder, we created a page on Pabian Law’s website (www.pabianlaw.com/news) to post news, updates, and helpful resources. Some of the articles and content on the site are password protected and only available to clients. We did this to reward our wonderful and loyal clients! Each quarter, we update the password, and the new password just went into effect.

Employment Authorization Documents (EADs) extended for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) Haiti
Federal courts have again extended EADs for TPS Haiti. The new extension date is now July 27th pursuant to ongoing court orders. These short-term extensions are intended to provide temporary relief to TPS-holders while litigation regarding the termination of TPS for Haiti (and other countries) continues.
Due to these extensions, employers should be regularly monitoring USCIS guidance to ensure employees may continue working. Please note that employers should not reverify workers if EAD dates are extended. Rather, employers should input “as per court order” in Section 1 of Form I-9 and record the new extension date in Section 2 along with a note in the additional information box. Reverification only happens when there is a true termination date and no further extension announced.
Immigration arrests hit a new record
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) recently released updated U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention data. Average arrests reached over 1,300 a day in June 2026, a 32% increase since April, the highest month since 2021. A DHS spokesperson stated that most of these ICE arrests are from people charged or convicted of a crime. Data shows detainees without a criminal record made up 37% of the detained population compared to 6% in January 2025.
This data reflects the Administration’s continued efforts to increase immigration enforcement. As enforcement continues, employers will experience workforce shortages and staffing holes. Therefore, it is important that employers continue planning and strategizing their staffing needs and look towards steadier employment options.
