I hope that you all had a great and relaxing weekend and for the dads in the group, a very Happy Father’s Day.  I apologize for yet another blast email but I wanted to pass along 2 important updates:

Additional Spots Available at the 2025 Staffing Summit!

Technically, we sold out the Staffing Summit!!!! But, thanks to our wonderful friends at the Players Club & Spa, we were able to add 15 final seats for next month’s Staffing Summit in Naples, Florida.  Before I send an email to the general public, I wanted to make sure all of you knew that there are 15 final seats available.

Here’s why you should attend if you are not already signed up:

  1. There is so much news and endless changes happening in the world of immigration and seasonal staffing.  Learning and education is more important than ever and this conference is tailored specifically to these issues.
  2. If you have struggled with recruiting, this conference is a no brainer.  We have an equal number of winter and summer organizations attending, so there are a ton of connections to be made for in-country recruiting.  A fun graphic is attached with more stats and information on the Summit.

Learn more and sign up online at https://www.eventleaf.com/e/2025StaffingSummit.  These are the final 15 spots available, and registration closes on Friday (June 20th).  This week is your final chance to register and when the final 15 spots are gone, we will be sold out again!

Trump Administration is Pausing ICE Raids on Hotels and Restaurants

On Friday, the Trump administration instructed Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) to no longer conduct raids on hotels, restaurants, and farms.  This came after President Trump acknowledged that the enforcement actions were hurting the hospitality and farm industries.

As part of this new policy, a senior ICE official sent an email to regional leaders at ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations department, the department that usually carries out work site operations and criminal investigations, to pause raids and arrests in the agricultural industry, hotels and restaurants.  The email read, “Effective [Friday, June 13, 2025], please hold on all work site enforcement investigations/operations on agriculture (including aquaculture and meat packing plants), restaurants and operating hotels.”

For those with a subscription to the New York Times, you can read an article about this pause here: Trump Shifts Deportation Focus, Pausing Raids on Farms, Hotels and Eateries – The New York Times

Importantly, this pause does not apply to unannounced site visits relating to H-2B and J-1 visas, U.S. Department of Labor Wage & Hour Audits, and other non-ICE raid government investigations.  More information about preparing for government visits and different enforcement actions can be found in the attached Pabian Law educational document.

As always, please let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Keith
